112907_globiesALBANY — Mohawk Global Logistics (MGL) has been named “Trade Partner of the Year” by the Capital Region Global Business Network (GBN).

Each year GBN, a non-for-profit global trade group, holds its Excellence in International Trade Awards to recognize companies for enhancing and promoting international trade in the Capital Region.

MGL-Albany accepted its award, a “Globie” world statuette, at this year’s ceremony on November 15th in Scotia, NY.

“It’s an exciting night for the Albany team,” says Operations Manager, Robert Boss.

Mohawk is one of six companies to receive a “Globie” at this year’s awards.

“Winning the Globie is a big honor for Team Albany,” says Senior Account Executive, Christine Marks. “We are being recognized not only by our clients, but our competitors and peers here in the Albany market. It is rewarding to know that our efforts and dedication are paying off,” she says.

“This award is a great testament to our first year in this market–a real symbol of our teamwork and presence. We are all very proud to win this and, more importantly, to win it together,” says Melanie Dillman, Logistics Coordinator.

“The bottom line is that we satisfy the needs of our clients from beginning to end. We make our clients very happy,” says Monchima Utamapetai, Logistics Coordinator.

Mohawk’s president, Gar Grannell, congratulates the team for their achievement. “Before opening the office in May 2006, we knew that the Capital Region held great potential for our company if we staffed the office with the right team of professionals. The GBN award recognizes the Albany team for their hard work and is proof that we have the right people on the job.”
