UPDATE: 8/3/2020—A new strike notice has been sent by the Longshoremen Union, which extends the strike for Viau and Maisonneuve terminals only, through Friday, August 7 at 6:59 am. This strike will impact longshoring and mooring activities at these terminals.

The Canadian Union of Public Employee (C.U.P.E.), will be carrying out a four-day strike at the Port of Montreal, beginning July 27, 2020 at 7:00 am until Friday, July 31 at 6:59 am. Mooring services, which are provided by longshoremen and cargo handling services, will be suspended during this period. According to the port, the strike will not affect liquid bulk handling, the Oceanex service, and the grain terminal.

We will continue to monitor this situation and offer updates as they become available. In the meantime, delays are expected. If Mohawk Global handles your cargo and it is impacted by this strike, your local office will contact you directly.

Please reach out to your Mohawk Global customer service representative with any questions you may have.
