US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued guidance updating four existing Section 301 exclusions for certain products imported from China. The changes align the exclusions with revised Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) statistical reporting numbers effective July 1, 2026.
The update affects three exclusions for certain pump parts and one for certain plastic products. CBP began accepting entry filings under the updated guidance on September 23, 2026.
Potential Duty Refunds
Importers may be eligible to recover Section 301 duties paid on qualifying entries filed between July 1 and September 22, 2026. Depending on entry status and applicable deadlines, refunds may be requested through a Post Summary Correction (PSC) or protest.
What Importers Should Do
Importers should review tariff classifications and previously filed entries to confirm eligibility for the updated exclusions and identify potential refund opportunities.
