In response to the impending 10 percent (now 15%)  Section 301 tariffs on $300 billion in Chinese goods, China has announced retaliation lists of tariffs on about $75 billion worth of U.S. goods. In the announcement, China said it will impose either 10 percent or 5 percent tariffs on more than 5,000 U.S. products. These tariffs will be implemented in two batches, the first will be imposed on September 1, 2019 and the second on December 15, 2019.

In another announcement, China will impose 25 percent on cars and 5 percent tariffs on auto parts, starting December 15, 2019.
