Here is the latest news on the status of several East Coast ports following Hurricane Sandy.

New York/New Jersey
Closed until further notice. 

The port endured extensive damage and flooding from the hurricane. Port operations are suspended while clean up gets underway. A video released by the Coast Guard on Tuesday shows the extent of the damage at the port, as observed during a post-hurricane over-flight of New York/New Jersey coast and waterways. Please note you may need to install a plugin for Windows Media Player to view the video.

Philadelphia, PA
Operational

Port officials reported “little or no damage.”

Norfolk, VA
Operational as of 7pm last night.

The Coast Guard declared the port safe, allowing dockworkers back into the port for the first time since the hurricane made landfall.
