UPDATE: The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has announced that the reduction of tariffs to 7.5 percent will be effective February 14, 2020 and will not be retroactive.

Get ready importers, you could see Chinese Section 301 list 4A tariffs reduced to 7.5 percent—from the current 15 percent—in the next 30 days. A recent conference call with a Trump administration official has narrowed the expected time frame to 30 days from today. This possible reduction was previously announced before the holidays but no time frame was indicated.
