In honor of Earth Day 2025, Mohawk Global is renewing its commitment to environmental stewardship through its continued partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization dedicated to global reforestation. This year’s Earth Day initiative will support the recovery of areas devastated by the catastrophic wildfires that swept through California earlier this year.
In January 2025, a series of destructive wildfires—intensified by severe drought, low humidity, and strong Santa Ana winds—engulfed more than 57,000 acres of land, particularly in the Los Angeles region. The fires resulted in the loss of at least 30 lives and left over 18,000 homes and structures damaged or destroyed.
To aid in the restoration of these hard-hit communities and ecosystems, Mohawk Global will fund the planting of 1,000 trees in the affected regions. This reforestation effort is part of the company’s annual Earth Day tradition of planting trees where they are needed most.
“The destruction caused by the California wildfires is heartbreaking, not only for the communities who lost so much, but also for the natural landscapes that have been forever changed,” said Gar Grannell, CEO of Mohawk Global. “At Mohawk Global, we believe that caring for people and the planet go hand in hand. By planting trees in the areas most affected, we hope to play a small but meaningful role in the healing process. This isn’t just about reforestation—it’s about renewal, resilience, and standing with those who are rebuilding their lives and their homes.”
Mohawk Global has proudly partnered with One Tree Planted for several years, helping to plant thousands of trees around the globe. This year’s initiative reinforces the company’s dedication to sustainability, resilience, and making a lasting impact where it matters most.
