Mohawk Global, in partnership with Grassroots Gardens WNY and Buffalo PS 45 – International School, celebrated the installation of new raised-bed gardens on May 29, expanding the company’s Sowing Kindness initiative and creating new opportunities for students to learn, grow, and connect with their community.
The project marks the third community garden established through Sowing Kindness, Mohawk Global’s employee-driven initiative focused on addressing food insecurity while enriching the communities where employees live and work. The Buffalo garden joins existing community gardens in Syracuse and Troy and reflects the company’s long-term vision of supporting garden spaces in the communities it serves.
When Grassroots Gardens WNY identified a need at Buffalo PS 45 – International School, Mohawk Global stepped in to help revitalize the aging garden infrastructure. Earlier this spring, Mohawk Global employees volunteered their time to remove deteriorating garden beds and construct new Vego raised beds that will provide a sustainable growing space for students and educators for years to come.
The celebration on May 29 brought together students, school staff, community partners, and Mohawk Global employees to recognize the completion of the project and the collective effort that made it possible. Students also received Buffalo Bills hats generously donated by New Era Cap, adding to the excitement of the day.

Since launching Sowing Kindness in 2024, Mohawk Global has established three community gardens in the communities where its employees live and work. Together, these gardens have produced and donated nearly two tons of fresh vegetables to local organizations and families facing food insecurity while creating meaningful opportunities for employee volunteerism and community engagement.
