Mohawk Global was honored with the Art Hagy Spirit of Generosity Award at the annual FEAST! banquet hosted by Troy Area United Ministries (TAUM) on May 28, 2026, at Franklin Terrace Ballroom.

The award recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the wellbeing and growth of TAUM and the communities it serves. Mohawk Global was recognized for installing a large raised-bed community garden at the Troy Area United Ministries location in Troy as part of the company’s Sowing Kindness initiative, an employee-driven effort focused on helping combat food insecurity through sustainable community gardens. The garden helps supplement the fresh food served to TAUM guests while also providing produce to community members experiencing food insecurity.

Since launching the Sowing Kindness initiative in 2024, Mohawk Global has remained dedicated to helping provide fresh, nutritious food to local communities. In just two years, the initiative has donated nearly two tons of fresh produce, with all harvests distributed to individuals and families facing food insecurity. The company’s long-term goal is to establish a community garden in every community where Mohawk Global has both an office presence and employees who call it home.

“At Mohawk Global, we believe kindness creates the greatest impact when it brings people together and leaves something meaningful behind,” said Gar Grannell, CEO and Chairman of Mohawk Global. “What began as a simple idea to give back has grown into something incredibly special for our employees and the communities we serve. Knowing that our Sowing Kindness initiative has helped provide nearly two tons of fresh produce to individuals and families who need it most is something we are deeply proud of. These gardens represent more than fresh food — they represent compassion, dignity, hope, and the power of community.”

According to TAUM, the impact of Mohawk Global’s generosity continues to be felt long after the initial installation of the Troy garden. Volunteers continue working to expand and maintain the space, helping improve accessibility and increase food production for neighbors experiencing food insecurity. All produce harvested from the garden is distributed directly to members of the community in need.

“When they installed and planted the garden at TAUM, Mohawk Global planted a seed which has grown tremendously and taken on a life of its own. TAUM now has a robust group of volunteers who plan to expand the size and variety of the garden and make it more accessible for the whole community to enjoy,” said Abby Norton-Levering, Executive Director of Troy Area United Ministries. “Kids in our summer programs will learn about gardening and preparing nutritious food grown literally in our backyard. Green space is scarce in the Osgood Neighborhood of Troy and we’re so happy our Sowing Kindness garden can provide more of that for our neighbors. All this is possible because of the investment of Mohawk Global in the health and well-being of our local neighborhood.”
