The pinwheel garden at Mohawk's corporate headquarters

Mohawk’s pinwheel garden is in full bloom this month at Syracuse’s Hancock Airport, thanks to our volunteer “planting crew”.

Similar gardens are sprouting up all over Syracuse as part of the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center’s annual Pinwheels for Prevention campaign. Each April the Center encourages the local community to purchase and plant these symbolic gardens to raise awareness of child abuse. The donated funds are then used to provide programs and services to abuse victims and their families. Each pinwheel in Mohawk’s garden represents a dollar donation made by the Michael J. McSherry Charitable Fund.

You can support Pinwheels for Prevention by purchasing a lapel pin, box of pinwheels, or pinwheel garden. All of these items can now be ordered directly from the Center’s website, here.

Special thanks to this year’s pinwheel planting crew!
