Negotiations for a new labor contract are on a scheduled break today and tomorrow, according to a joint statement issued by the Pacific Maritime Association and International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU). The break allows the ILWU to hold its Longshore Division Caucus in San Francisco. Negotiations will start back up on Wednesday, 7/23.
The contract talks will break again from 7/28─8/1 so the ILWU may continue its unrelated contract negotiations in the Pacific Northwest.
