The continued measures to limit the spread of Covid-19 within the US, combined with a high influx of container volumes throughout the US, are causing disturbances and delays across the supply chain.

The disruptions are significantly impacting import LCL cargo, specifically moving through the US West Coast ports of LA/Long Beach and US East Coast port of New York, and then being on-forwarded to the rest of the country.

Vessel delays into ports, along with chassis and drayage capacity shortages are already causing slow processing times for LCL shipments. However, these are now being combined with domestic trucking shortages. This leads to a restricted ability to keep deconsolidated cargo moving inland to final destinations around the US.

As we do our best to mitigate the delayed transit times, we are currently experiencing extended delays with expectations they will continue into the 4th quarter.

For high priority cargo, we are able to offer premium Expedited LCL solutions into many destinations throughout the US from major points in China. These services use providers outside traditional LCL networks to avoid the congestion and backlogs plaguing the industry.

A sample of stated transit times are below. If you have a need for such a service, please contact your Mohawk representative for port pairs, schedules and pricing.
