President Trump spoke with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum this morning, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this afternoon, with both calls resulting in the postponement of a 25 percent tariff on US imports for one month while negotiations continue.

“I look forward to participating in those negotiations with President Sheinbaum as we work toward a ‘deal’ between our two countries,” President Trump said.

Prime Minister Trudeau announced the creation of a Canada-U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering.

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has published the Federal Register Notices on China and Canada providing further details on the President’s intended actions under the Executive Orders, including updates to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS).
