In response to China’s retaliatory tariffs, President Trump has announced a 5 percent increase on all Section 301 tariffs. This means that the 25 percent tariffs on approximately $250 billion worth of Chinese imports will be increased to 30 percent, effective October 1, 2019. The recent 10 percent tariffs that will go into effect September 1, 2019 and December 15, 2019, will be increased to 15 percent.
