Transpacific carriers continue to increase rates through this strong peak season. They’ve announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) to be effective September 1, but have not settled on the rate level.
Our early indications are that the increase may be heavily mitigated by many of the lines, with further erosion of rates as the peak volumes begin to wane, which typically occurs by the end of September.
The worst case scenario is full implementation at announced levels:
Equip. | USD |
LCL cbm | $12 |
20′ Std | $480 |
40′ Std | $600 |
40′ HC | $675 |
45′ Std’ | $760 |
Mohawk will continue negotiations with carriers to mitigate or eliminate the increases.
