At Mohawk Global, caring for our communities is part of who we are. It’s woven into our culture, guiding the way we work, connect, and give back. That commitment — brought to life through our Sowing Kindness initiative — has earned Mohawk Global recognition as a 2025 CNY Business Journal Family Business Award honoree for Community Service Excellence.
Each year, the Family Business Awards celebrate companies across Central New York that embody leadership, innovation, and community impact. For us, this honor reflects the collective heart of our people — those who roll up their sleeves, plant the seeds, and bring generosity to life through meaningful action.
Growing goodness from the ground up
What began in 2024 as a small idea — transforming unused parking lot space at our Syracuse headquarters into a thriving garden — has blossomed into something extraordinary. With 500 square feet of raised beds, our employees nurtured vegetables from seed to harvest, producing more than 1,750 pounds of fresh food in that first season, all donated to the Samaritan Center to help nourish families facing food insecurity.
Encouraged by that success, in 2025 we expanded Sowing Kindness to Troy Area United Ministries (TAUM) in Troy, NY. There, volunteers built new raised-bed gardens that have already produced hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables — helping TAUM provide wholesome meals and expand their food pantry offerings for neighbors in need.
This year, our Syracuse gardens alone yielded over one ton of fresh produce, bringing our total donations since 2024 to more than 3,750 pounds of food shared with local partners.
More than a garden

The CNY Business Journal’s Family Business Awards Breakfast will take place on December 3, 2025, celebrating the region’s most dedicated businesses and community leaders.
