Mandatory enforcement of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) eFiling initiative begins on July 8, 2026—less than three months away.
Importers of products that require a Certificate of Compliance (COC) must electronically submit (“eFile”) the COC through a Partner Government Agency (PGA) message set, supported by the CPSC Product Registry, which is used to store and manage COC data. CPSC has published several resources to help importers determine whether their products are subject to regulation and to prepare for eFiling, including:
Additional information about the eFiling initiative is available on the CPSC’s dedicated eFiling website, which includes:
Early preparation is essential. Implementing the processes needed to successfully eFile COCs can take several months. Importers are strongly encouraged to begin now by:
- Reviewing their US imports for CPSC applicability
- Identifying products that require a COC
- Uploading required product data into the CPSC Product Registry
If you have not yet begun preparing for CPSC eFiling, immediate action is recommended. Please contact your Mohawk Global representative with any questions or for assistance.
