Although our domestic division has long been serving international clients behind the scenes, it has also catered to purely domestic clients for years now. In 2012, this division experienced unprecedented growth and we realized: this well-known secret is out of the bag.
Here are the year over year stats for 2012 (as compared to 2011):
- year over year volume increased by 65%
- 30% increase in FTL and intermodal shipments
- nearly 80% increase in LTL and expedited shipments
Such a surge in business necessitated an increase in personnel and so we beefed up the domestic staff by 40% in 2012. The momentum of last year has shown no signs of slowing down. To keep up with the pace of business, we’ve already increased staff dedicated to domestic shipments by another 25% since the beginning of this year.
We have been getting the word out to many clients who have previously only known Mohawk as a forwarder/ broker. Based on last year’s growth, it seems that many clients have come to understand that Mohawk is more than that.
