UPDATE: The USTR has released new lists for List 4A and 4B. Importers should refer to the new notice from the Federal Register regarding which HTS codes are affected, and not the previous lists. Annex A is the HTS list for list 4A and Annex B contains the informal descriptions of what is in list 4A. Annex C is the HTS list for list 4B and Annex D contains the informal descriptions of what is in list 4B.
As an update to our last alert, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has announced that the additional 10 percent tariff (now 15%) on List 4 of Section 301 will be applied based on the date of entry of merchandise. This means that shipments on the water will be impacted, if they do not arrive and have an entry or in-bond presented prior to September 1st.
