In spite of the country’s sluggish economy last year, Mohawk and its employees never wavered from their commitment to charitable giving. Today, the company announces its second highest year of charitable giving through the Michael J. McSherry Charitable Fund.
In 2012 the Charitable Fund, which consists of employee and matching corporate contributions, donated $23,601 to community organizations and individuals in need.
Donations were distributed throughout the year, with the highest amounts given to human services organizations ($7500), like local food banks, Vera House, and Boys & Girls Club; health focused groups ($6375), such as the American Cancer Society, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, and National Brain Injury Foundation; and educational programs ($2950), such as the Fowler High School STEM Club, Say Yes to Education, and Writing with Light.
