Listen to the below episode from the “Compassionate Leaders Circle” podcast to learn more about the higher purpose of Mohawk Global, the importance of a people-first mentality and how it directly relates to business growth.

When Mohawk Global went remote during the spring of 2020, Gar Grannell, CEO & Chairman, started running “Town Hall” calls via Microsoft Teams on a weekly basis to answer employee questions and explain executive-level conversations occurring during such turbulent times. Each and every Town Hall ended with Gar saying “I love you all.”

This phrase received smiles of appreciation, but was a very literal example of what many define as compassionate leadership, or – leading with love. “To me, compassionate leadership can be defined as the practice of building personal connections and trust with our people for the purposes of enriching them. To lead with our heart,” said Gar.

Enrichment is only one of Mohawk Global’s’ core values. Gar explains “Our core values of Enrich, Care, and Deliver are rooted in a belief system that starts with compassionate leadership. We care so deeply about our people that we are driven to help them grow. As our people grow, so does our business.”

The Compassionate Leaders Circle was founded by CEO Laurel Donnellan, as a team with the purpose to guide organizations to create “loveable work” through leadership development programs. The Mohawk Global leadership team was honored to learn more about how to practice compassionate leadership, on every level, from Donnellan during the latest leadership retreats in the fall of 2021.
