The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and extensive need for personal protective equipment (PPE), the U.S. will restrict exports of specific PPE, as of April 7,2020.
These restrictions will last for 120 days after the official notice is published in the Federal Register on April 10, 2020 and will apply certain respirators and surgical masks and gloves. Exemptions are available in specific cases, for instance for some export agreements that have been in effect since the beginning of 2020.
