Every company is unique, and our team works hard to understand what’s most important to your team. Doing so allows us to follow through on our goals together. Here is what to expect in the trucking industry, as we move into the second quarter:

Seasonal Demand is increasing at the slowest pace in five years. Consumer conditions are keeping retail sales low and will likely prevent freight demand from picking up during Q2. While there will be slight increases in demand at some points, we are keeping a pulse on the situation to see how drastic it will be once retailers begin building their inventories back up.

Produce Season is typically April through July and will impact available capacity throughout the country, as produce heads north from the southern states. Please note there is produce that moves from the west that may take place later this year due to delayed harvest, or some crops may not come in this year due to flooding. We expect this season to be muted given the oversupply of capacity in the market.

Roadcheck is the largest targeted enforcement program on commercial vehicles in the world. There are about fifteen trucks inspected every minute across North America during a 72-hour period. Scheduled to begin on May 16, 2023. To avoid disruptive delays, we expect to see carriers go on hiatus during this time.
