On November 4, 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will deploy Collections Release 7 enhancements to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), which will enable CBP to retire the ACS mainframe.

Impacted the most by this change will be importers who pay their duties directly to Customs via Automatic Clearing House (ACH).

The Impact

  • CBP will hold the processing of collections received November 1–3. CBP will process those payments in the new ACE Collections system on Sunday, November 5, 2023—with the correct collection dates.
  • Payments received November 1–3 may reflect unpaid or late because of this system transition until the payments are posted on Sunday, November 5, 2023—this will not have a negative impact on importers. However, final statements may be delayed and could be held up into the week of November 6.

We advise importers to be prepared for longer disruptions if issues arise with the transition over to the new system.
