US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced an important update that will impact how importers pay certain service and duty bills. As of December 15, 2025, any bill tied to an entry that was originally paid through a Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS) must now be paid electronically via Pay.gov. Paper checks will no longer be accepted for these PMS-related bills.
What Importers Should Know
- Electronic payment is now required: All PMS-related bills must be submitted through Pay.gov using ACH Debit.
- ACH Credit remains an option: If you prefer ACH Credit, CBP can provide setup instructions at ACH-CUSTOMS@cbp.dhs.gov.
- PMS status isn’t shown on the CBP bill: The bill itself does not indicate whether the underlying entry was paid through PMS.
This change supports CBP’s efforts to streamline its revenue collection process and ensure consistent electronic payments for PMS activity. If you have questions about this update, reach out to your Mohawk Global Representative.
