The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is set to start enforcing the registration requirements of the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA) on July 1, 2024. MoCRA was established to help ensure safety in the related product categories for daily-use cosmetics.
As the Act is currently written, there is no change to the entry process. However, certain facilities that manufacture, or process cosmetic products, are now required to be registered with the FDA prior to importation.
The below resources are available to aid in understanding facility registration and product listing requirements, including annual updates.
