We are pleased to advise that the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), originally announced to go into effect on 1/15, has been postponed until 2/1. There is speculation that it may be delayed again or possibly cancelled.

The General Rate Increase (GRI), announced for 2/1, is still applicable; but with a weakening market, it’s likely to be heavily mitigated or postponed as well.

Vessels remain booked close to capacity amid the pre-Chinese New Year rush; however, we expect a downturn in bookings following the holiday. It is this expectation of lower demand that is pressuring the delay on any increases at this time.
