Due to COVID-19 reducing staffing levels, Lufthansa Cargo has set a transit embargo for Frankfurt for cargo shipments from USA & Canada and Europe—including Germany.

What does this mean?

All shipments from the regions Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa as well as Latin and South America (also via Frankfurt) are not affected.

The following shipments can continue to fly:

  • All shipments to/from Frankfurt. Direct deliveries as well as outbound deliveries in Frankfurt are still possible.
  • All BUP, VAL, AVI, HUM, LHO, BXO, ZXO shipments, same-day delivery, mail and active temp control units.
  • All shipments routed via our other HUBs in MUC, VIE and BRU as these hubs are not affected and are operating normally.
  • Cargo that has already been accepted by us will be handled as soon as feasible.

Shipments that are not flying areloose freight—via the Frankfurt hub from USA & Canada and Europe, including Germany—that has not yet been delivered can no longer be accepted by Lufthansa Cargo and transported in a timely manner.

If you have any questions about how this may impact your shipments, please reach out to your Mohawk Global representative.
