Indonesia has been under emergency PPKM—or “micro” lockdown—rules since July 3, in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. This has caused its port authorities and Customs to work with limited staff, resulting in delays empty container pickups and redelivery of full containers. Many feeder vessels are also skipping Indonesian ports, which is adding to limited capacity.

Although port operations are not directly impacted, the current situation could exacerbate the capacity limitations in the market. If you have questions please reach out to your Mohawk Global representative.
