The Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) has announced that starting September 27, certain products will be subject to the previously announced, increased Section 301 tariffs. The USTR has stated that there will be a future publication on the temporary exclusions for certain domestic-use machinery and specific solar equipment.
The 2024 tariff increases are applicable to products entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouses on or after September 27, 2024. These modifications are part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to address China’s unfair trade practices and protect American industries.
