Mohawk Global Giveback (MGG) is thrilled to announce a new focus on enriching our communities by sustainably feeding local neighborhoods where there is a lack of access to affordable and nutritious, fresh food options.

Packing Easter Dinner at Brady Market

Our first endeavor under our new direction, is to further establish a partnership with Brady Market, a community-focused grocery store and social enterprise in Syracuse, NY, that is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of individuals and families in underserved neighborhoods.

The week before Easter, our Syracuse team went to Brady Market to assemble boxes filled with everything needed for a holiday meal for local families in need.

“The people at Mohawk Global caught our vision and immediately immersed themselves as a primary partner in our Easter Holiday Dinner Distribution. They were the lead donor in raising money to purchase food items and the lead organization in volunteering to pack our 220 food boxes and load them into the vehicles of our 17 collaborative organizations who delivered them to neighbors, door to door,” said Kevin Frank, Director of Brady Faith Center.

The holiday meal boxes, thoughtfully curated to serve 8-10 people, featured an array of nutritious goods, including ham, collard greens, plantains, and a variety of other delicious side dishes. The goal was not only to provide nourishment to these families but also to cultivate a sense of community and togetherness during the holiday season.

“Partners like Mohawk Global give all of us hope that by coming together on a shared mission, we can transform food deserts into food oases,” stated Kevin.

It was our honor to support Brady Market this Easter and we are looking forward to growing our partnership through more volunteer opportunities with them.

More to Come

Working with Brady Market this holiday has been a highly rewarding experience.

“I love working for a company that gives us the opportunity to give back to our community. Nine of our team members, from different departments, were able to put together over 200 Easter meals for families in need. It was an overall amazing experience,” said Christian Daley, Import Transportation Coordinator at Mohawk Global.

To achieve our MGG vision of sustainably feeding our communities, we are joining or establishing community gardens near all our office locations. This will give our people an opportunity to tend to the produce as it grows. After we harvest, we will work with our partners to properly distribute the garden’s crop to the communities that struggle with healthy food access. Our Syracuse team is eager to work on the Brady farm and community garden this year to fully kickstart our sustainability outreach. We cannot wait to share more on how we’re working towards achieving our sustainability vision this year. The best is yet to come.
