The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced that they are rescheduling the official CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) launch date for trade chain partners to October 2024. They are still planning to launch CARM’s digital initiative internally on May 13, to advance the Agency’s compliance and enforcement efforts.

The delay is due to strike vote activity by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the possible impact that a strike could have on the Agency’s operations. The internal launch will ensure that the Agency can support partners when they start using CARM.

CARM is ready to roll out. However, the support of CBSA employees is critical to successful implementation. The Agency’s goal is to set industry partners up for success by rescheduling the launch.
